Michael Becker is a Principal at SPI Advisory LLC and heads SPI’s Dallas, Texas office where he oversees all aspects of property operations, including asset management, property management oversight, accounting and taxation, capital improvement and renovation projects and investor relations. Michael is a lifelong resident of North Texas and a graduate of The University of North Texas with a BBA in Finance. He is married and has two young children.
Michael is a 15 year veteran Commercial Real Estate Banker and has originated and managed numerous portfolios of permanent and bridge loans in all major asset classes. Over the last 5 years of his banking tenure, Michael focused exclusively on multi-family properties, where he was the number one loan producer for his division at a Top 3 National lender for his last 3 consecutive years.
As a Portfolio Manager, Michael directly oversaw the management and financial performance of the countless C & B class Multi-Family properties he originated loans for. As a result, he accumulated an exceedingly diverse network of suppliers, contractors, consultants and service providers during his tenure. This gives him the ability to quickly and efficiently implement a breadth of value-added strategies for a fraction of the typical cost.
Sean Mabarak is a Principal at SPI Advisory LLC and heads SPI’s Austin, Texas office where he oversees all acquisitions, capital markets, portfolio management and investor relations activity for the company. Sean has extensive experience raising capital and providing innovative efficiency solutions for entrepreneurial firms. Over the years, he has transformed the operations of numerous companies, resulting in rapid and sustainable growth for his clients and partners. After working with a boutique real estate investment trust in 2010, Sean decided to apply his diverse operational expertise and strong finance background to multi-family real estate investment and has not looked back since. Sean received a BBA in Finance from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
Between 2011 and 2014, Sean advised both high net worth individuals and corporate clients in the underwriting, acquisition, renovation, management and disposition of large multi-family investment property. Having closed nearly three hundred million dollars in apartment building transactions over that period, Sean gained an intimate understanding of how to successfully navigate the intricacies of large real estate deals and overcome myriad complications. He firmly believes that the secret to successful real estate investing is a laser focus on desirable locations with strong economics and the selection of a passionate operations team that can efficiently execute complex value-added strategies.
Director of Acquisitions
Steven Brown is a member of SPI’s team and has been a part of the company since its inception. He has owned his own companies in the past, and that entrepreneurial spirit has been an asset to SPI. He is primarily responsible for project managing our acquisition and disposition processes from contract to closing, for being our main lender liaison, and for handling our insurance negotiations.
Steven was raised in Austin. He has traveled extensively in multiple continents and is an avid outdoorsman. Although he was originally a part of our Los Angeles office, he recently moved to DFW to office in Frisco. He is married and is the proud father of a beautiful son.
In his career Steven is responsible for successfully closing over $ 500 million in real estate transactions. He is a driving force behind ensuring we target properties that will provide the best benefit to our investors and in bringing our acquisitions and dispositions to closing successfully.
Director of Operations
Jennifer Warder has primary responsibility for SPI’s organizational planning, HR, coordinating communications between all members of the organization, and improving operational systems, processes, and policies in support of the company’s vision. Jennifer was raised in DFW and has spent most of her career in the area. She is a graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a BA in Mathematics.
Jennifer spent the majority of her more than 25 year career as a Business Analyst/Project Manager in IT creating functional designs for custom software and managing projects from vision to implementation. She has extensive experience working with all levels of organizations (CEOs to subject matter experts) in multiple industries in both the US and UK. Consulting in IT across multiple industries has only strengthened her ability to design and implement solutions that assist companies in improving their effectiveness.
Jennifer’s experience in facilitating and managing projects from vision to implementation and in defining repeatable, efficient processes makes her uniquely qualified to provide operational direction to SPI Advisory.
Carl Dean is the Asset Manager for SPI Advisory LLC and has the responsibility of maintaining the company’s multifamily portfolio.
Carl comes from a single-family turnkey background with extensive experience in construction management. In 2016 Carl was awarded the national Turnkey Provider of the Year and featured on the cover of Think Realty Magazine for his efforts. Carl is also well versed when it comes to both institutional and foreign national investors and has helped lead companies to success in multiple countries.
Carl grew up around construction and property management his entire life and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing.
Marketing & Project Coordinator
Manon LaGrange is a Marketing & Project Coordinator at SPI Advisory, LLC. Her responsibilities include marketing for SPI, communication with and support of investors, and coordination of special projects.
Manon was born and raised in the DFW area, and she graduated from Southwestern University with a BA in Communications Studies and a minor in French. Manon has always had an interest in the arts and frequently paints in her spare time.
Manon’s studies in college, her artistic nature, and her knowledge of SPI vision and processes will enable her to move our marketing efforts forward. And, her experiences in working with SPI operational processes and systems will make her an asset in coordinating SPI’s special projects.
Nicole Taylor is an Administrative Assistant at SPI Advisory, LLC. She is responsible for processing important documents, providing support to current and potential investors, communicating with SPI’s property management teams, and assisting with the daily processes and functions that keep the company moving forward.
Nicole graduated from Tarrant County College in 2011. Nicole’s 5 years as an orthodontic assistant has provided her experience in building relationships with clients and in establishing processes and systems to ensure the success of her employer.
Nicole has a beautiful 9-year-old daughter and lives in Fort Worth.
